Our Interior Design Studio
Royalwoods Interiors was founded to bring manor-grade panelling and joinery to Kenyan homes and businesses. We are designers, bench joiners and finish carpenters working under one roof — literally milling in the morning what we install in the afternoon.
What began as a small joinery bench has grown into a full design-and-build studio trusted across Nairobi's finest addresses — Runda, Karen, Kitisuru, Muthaiga and Lavington.
We stayed deliberately small in one sense: everything is still made by our own people. That is why our detailing survives close inspection and our programmes are met. We do not subcontract the craft that our name depends on.
The result is interiors that feel commissioned rather than bought — rooms proportioned to their architecture and finished to a standard you can run your hand along.
From our Nairobi base, we work across Runda, Karen, Kitisuru, Muthaiga, Lavington, Westlands, Riverside, Tatu City and the wider region. The scale changes from room to room; the measured, workshop-led method does not.
An Integrated Nairobi Studio
An interior commission passes through many decisions: proportion, material thickness, hardware, lighting channels, service access, fabrication tolerances and the realities of installation. Keeping the designers, bench joiners and site team close to one another means those decisions are solved as a connected system.
It also gives the client a clear line of responsibility. The approved drawing becomes the shared reference from consultation to handover, while feedback from the workshop and site can be resolved quickly without diluting the original intent.
Our concepts develop alongside measured elevations and buildable details. Panel grids account for openings, cabinetry allows for real hardware and services, and material junctions are decided before they become urgent questions on site.
Explore our capabilitiesCutting, assembly, dry fitting and priming are completed in a controlled environment wherever the design allows. Components arrive on site organised for their installation sequence, which reduces disruption and protects finish quality.
Read about the processThe site team works from the same set-out information as the workshop. Scribing, alignment, lighting tests, decoration and snagging are treated as the final stages of making—not separate tasks after the design is complete.
